Special Tiling

A new tool, added in ZenTile2.02, allows yet more possibilities. If you move a square picture so that it is quartered, seamless tiles become much easier to make.

Here is a small portion of a diamond-tiled image. It is hard to show the effect in a clip, but the lady has her head pointed toward the center from all sides, like in a football huddle.

The random tiler has many options which will dramatically change the output. The output can then be retiled with one of the standard styles to create delicately complex tiles, as shown in the right-hand pictures. You can tile the same picture with the same settings, and the result will be different each time, because of the random factors that are introduced by the code. For example, the background color is chose randomly from the source picture.

Remember, you can use any picture as a source, it's hard to predict what will happen once you hit the OK button!

Here are the originals used for the random tiles, resized to 20%.
