OBJ Tools

When you open an OBJ file from the File Manager, Recent Files or by clicking View OBJ in the main screen, this window will open.
Scale OBJ: this will allow you to scale an OBJ from -10 to +10 times original. You can enter larger values, but I don't recommend it, since rounding errors can be introduced. If you need to scale more, you should use your modeling program. Note that there is a batch function, to scale all OBJ's in a folder, but be careful you have selected the right folder!
Compress OBJ: morph targets should have only vertices in them, not face lines. This tool will remove everything not needed. You can also compress a full OBJ file. This will remove all normals, which Poser doesn't use (it calculates its own, as do most modeling programs), and remove a number of other types of lines which aren't needed and only serve to confuse Poser and make files larger. This tool will decrease file size up to 30% or more, depending on what is in the file. There is an option to create backup files, and a batch function - but as above, be careful!
Flip Normals: this is explained by Zeke in the screenshot above. Some programs produce OBJ files with the vertices in the opposite order expected by Poser, and using this tool will make them usable.
Make Heightfield Maps

This tool will allow you to create maps which use heightfield information, in black and white or greyscale, for such purposes as transparency, bump and displacement maps.
You can choose the brush width, type of brush (circular or line) and shade of grey. There is an eraser, optional help, and the Magnifier is available. This tool, available from many tool windows and usable even in other apps, since it stays on top, is shown below.
Up to 100X, RGB color shown for the cursor location, moveable.
When you're finished, click done, and you will be given the option of inverting the map colors, as for transparency use. After saving, the new map will be automatically opened in the Graphics Viewer -- the lines of the original template will NOT be saved, so the map is ready to use.
Make MTL: Poser creates an MTL file which can't be read by other programs. This tool window allows you to set all useful values, and is available from a number of locations in CR2Edit.
Finally, there is the OBJ Window proper...
