Change File Attributes: suppose you have bought a CD of textures. You want to alter them, but your paint app can't change them, because they are read-only -- that's the way it is with CD's. You can change each as you go, but the easy way is to point this tool at the folder and have it change them all at once. The Zip tool window is next... |

The
Zip tool window can use CR2Edit's zip routine, or almost any Zip app you have (not only WinZip). If you register your Zip program in App Locations, last button in the Maintenance list, it will open automatically when you click "Use Other Zip". The files may or may not be loaded automatically, depending on the program.CR2Edit has its own Encryption module:

A password list is maintained which contains the files encrypted and their passwords, and the dates. The method used also compresses the files as much as 90%, making this the ideal format for sending files safely and easily to other CR2Edit users, if you are the paranoid type! The method is similar to that used by Zenware's free app
ZenCode, but the files CANNOT be read by that program. The next button is
Remove/Backup/Restore This tool window will make managing your Poser files intelligently an easy task. The Library Manager (below) will give you the power to move folders around, but this collection of tools is useful for working with one library file and all its associated files.|
|
The next tool is Renumber File Sequence. When you export a series of OBJ or BMP files, as from an animation, Poser names them in such a manner that they aren't displayed alphabetically in Explorer. 1.obj is followed by 11.obj, not 2.obj. This tool will renumber a folder full of such files so that they will be listed in order in Windows Explorer. 001.obj, 002.obj, 003.obj and so on. |
Next is a very important tool for vendors, the
Project Packager. This set of tools will create a Zip of all the files used by your project, write a ReadMe for you, etc.
You have downloaded a file, but it crashes Poser. Often, this is because someone has hard-coded the location of the map files, or they forgot to include them, or the OBJ is misplaced.
This tool will examine a CR2, PP2, HR2 or PZ3 and check that all needed files exist and are in the right place. This includes alternate geometry files.
It will give you a report, and you can click the Notes button and the Notebook will open with the report loaded for later reference.

Almost everyone has a problem with cluttered Poser folders. You don't need Poser 5 or a separate utility to re-organize them safely and easily, with CR2Edit's
Library Manager.
The final button on the Maintenance submenu is for telling CR2Edit the locations of
auxiliary programs.
